Minutes of my talk with Hon. Ambassador of Ghana Switzerland

Topic: About the letter of our demands

1. He proposes that we give physical instances of our request to enable him recommend to the Minister for a possible intervention on our behalf. He said as far Stay permits and Family reunions are concerned, this has to be done within the framework of Austrian Laws, however I stressed that the circumstances guiding these procedures make it very cumbersome for us all! He said this can be discussed and be recommended.

1. About the criminal certificates:

I elaborated the circumstances as in our letter. I insisted that the duration be extended to 1 year to enable sufficient time for any formal procedures about visa to be treated. He seems to be convinced about this issue.

1. About Sending lawyers to investigate the origin and nationality of applicants for Austrian citizenship or for family reunion. He said this can be argued out since there are new methods such as biometrics for the issue of passports which adds more credibility to the system of documentation at governmental level.

2. About the consulate, some homework has to be done!

• To find out first whether Graz lies in the consulate allocation of Austria

• The choice of candidate: must either be an Austria or has a permanent resident in Austria

• Since this person is not paid, a source of finance must be worked out to enable the smooth running of the consulate.

• Accessibility must guaranteed preferably with a secretary or someone present in case the consular is not available.

• The form of the office (Residence +Office) preferable.

The official letter will be sent next week! I propose therefore a general meeting immediately after receiving the letter.
